Cromgard® C12 ASTM A554 Structural Tubing

Cromgard® C12 A554 Structural Tubing has an 85-percent advantage in yield strength over 304L and is unparalleled for structural applications when compared to coated carbon steels or 300 series stainless steels. The corrosion resistance of Cromgard® C12 is similar to that of Type 409 stainless steel. It is available in HR and CR finishes and is substantially more corrosion resistant than weathered, painted or galvanized steels. In addition, Cromgard®’s high strength allows for low-weight design options. Its combined corrosion resistance and strength makes Cromgard® more cost effective than comparable steels.

Crompion International offers Cromgard® C12 Tubing that is readily cut, drilled, formed and welded, and can be provided in various sizes.

Shape Size Wall Thickness
Square 1″ up to 4″ 1.0mm up to 6.35mm

Cromgard® Sugar Tubing

In many industries, pre-heating combustion air as it enters into burners is a common practice to increase efficiency and productivity. These air heaters are often made from thin-walled carbon steel tubes that promote good heat transfer, but usually see hot-end wear and cold-end corrosion during the first months of operation. This deterioration leads to a reduction of efficiency and may necessitate the replacement of the whole tube despite the fact that the damages are only at the ends. Replacement is performed manually and in difficult conditions, which is costly and leads to significant downtime.

Crompion International’s Cromgard® Air Pre-Heater Tubing not only provides high heat transfer coefficients, but also offers high corrosion and abrasion resistance to ensure it lasts for years longer than carbon steel.

Crompion International’s Cromgard® C18 Series Evaporator Tubing is perfect for a variety of low-pressure, elevated temperature applications in a wide range of industries. This tubing is most commonly used for vacuum pans, heat exchanger tubes, evaporator tubes, and heater tubes. The tubing’s superior strength, and corrosion/abrasion resistance substantially outperforms other commonly used grades of steel and is much more economical than copper.
