Cromgard® C12 DOWNLOAD DATA SHEET

At 12-percent Chromium, it offers high strength and long-term durability. It is 85% stronger than 304L SS*, and stronger and more corrosion resistant than aluminum. It is up to 250 times more corrosion resistant than uncoated mild steel and is an economical substitute for conventional stainless steel where mild corrosive conditions do not justify use of expensive 18/8 grades. Cromgard® C12’s excellent strength properties also provide the opportunity to reduce weight in structural applications.  *(for thicknesses <6mm)

 

Cromgard® C20-1 DOWNLOAD DATA SHEET

At 20-percent chromium, it has similar general, pitting and crevice corrosion resistance to 201, 201L, 304 and 304L stainless steels.   However, this is dependent on the corrosion media. For example, Cromgard® C20-1 has significantly better corrosion resistance than 316L in sulphuric acid (H2SO4) solutions. The atmospheric corrosion resistance of Cromgard® C20-1 is unequaled by virtually all other uncoated engineering materials and it is normally sufficient in urban and industrial environments. The excellent strength, toughness, corrosion resistance and resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) make Cromgard® C20-1 suitable for applications such as process and storage tanks, some food and beverage applications as well as several structural applications.

 

Cromgard® C20-3 DOWNLOAD DATA SHEET

Cromgard® C20-3: At 19.5-21.5-percent chromium, its yield strength is more than double that of austenitic stainless steels such as grades 304L and 316L. This often allows downgauging in the design, depending on Young’s Modulus and buckling limitations. Cromgard® C20-3 has similar general and pitting corrosion resistance that fills the gap between Type 316L austenitic stainless steel and DSS grade 2205. Its excellent strength, toughness, corrosion resistance and resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) make Cromgard® C20-3 suitable for a wide range of applications such as: subsea flow lines, bridge decking, desalinization, water heaters, pipes & tubes, water treatment, potable water systems, power generation, chemical processing, transport tanks, home appliances. heat exchangers, pressure vessels, architectural structures and pulp & paper production.

 

Cromgard® C21 DOWNLOAD DATA SHEET

At 20.5-23.5-percent chromium, it has better corrosion resistance than Type 304L in most applications and performs as well as Type 316L in many environments while at the same time having the higher strength characteristics of duplex stainless steels. The yield strength of Cromgard® C21 is more than double that of austenitic stainless steels such as grades 304L and 316L. This strength advantage often allows downgauging in the design, depending on Young’s Modulus and buckling limitations. Cromgard® C21’s excellent strength, toughness, corrosion resistance and resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) make it suitable for applications such as: subsea oil & gas, top side oil & gas, pipes & tubes, storage tanks, power generation, transport tanks, heat exchangers, cosmetic architectural and structural architectural.
